We are devastated by the unfolding situation in Israel. We are grieving alongside all of our friends, colleagues and family members and praying for peace. The situation is rapidly changing as new details emerge by the hour.
Slingshot is compiling a list of resources from trusted partners and experts in the field to support you as you navigate how to move your philanthropy in these early days and into the future.
Please continue to check back with this page often as we will be updating this list as we get more information.
GIVE: Lists of Agencies/Organizations
Jewish Funders Network: JFN is in contact with the National Emergency Authority in Israel to identify needs and opportunities for funders to help. While there are immediate needs, there will be many – and probably bigger – needs in the days to come. This is a list of trusted agencies and nonprofits supported by their members both in Israel and the US.
Jewish Federations of North America Emergency Relief Fund: Jewish Federations are responding, working with our core partners to support victims of terror, help rebuild damaged infrastructure, and address the unprecedent levels of trauma caused by this horrific attack. 100% of the funds raised goes directly to the emergency.
The Jewish Agency’s Fund for Victims of Terror has been providing immediate, critical financial aid to victims and their families. We have already disbursed hundreds of grants, arriving with checks within 24-48 hours, and anticipate distributing more, while also following up with long-term overall recovery and rehabilitative assistance.
UJA Federation of New York's Israel Emergency Fund: In the wake of heinous terrorist attacks, UJA is mobilizing urgently needed relief for the people of Israel. Emergency cash assistance for victims of terror. Critically needed trauma counseling. Care for children in shelters. Burial expenses. Funds to relocate people to safer areas.
Two organizations in particular that our community members are funding right now are:
NATAL: Israel Trauma Center for Victims of Terror and War. This apolitical Israeli organization treats PTSD and other trauma related mental health issues related to war and terrorism
IsraAID: This Israeli aid group known mainly humanitarian work, is accepting donations in support of Israeli communities affected by the fighting. IsraAID is working with evacuees from the South.
LEARN: Resources to help you understand or talk to friends, family, or children about the conflict.
How to Talk about Israel with Your Children from the Jewish Education Project: Join The Jewish Education Project's Dr. Samantha Vinokor-Meinrath and noted expert Dr. Sivan Zakai for a conversation and the sharing of resources and best practices on talking to children about Israel and the current situation.
